Zoroastrianism (Avestism, Fire worship, Parsism, Mazdaism) is the most ancient of the world 's religions of revelation, having had "more influence on humanity, directly or indirectly, than any other faith". Zoroastrianism was the state religion of the three great Iranian empires of the 6th century BC - 7th century CE, which dominated much of the Near and Middle East. Many of its doctrines are borrowed by northern Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Gnostic sects. This religion has common roots with Hinduism, and it is therefore not surprising that astrology is also given great importance in it. Dutch researcher B.L. van der Waerden even considers zoroastrianism the "main ideology" of
horoscope astrology. The occupation of astrology in Zoroastrianism was the prerogative of the magician priests. Traces of astrolatry - the veneration of stars - are preserved in this religion. With particular awe, the Zoroastrians honored the "star giving" Tishtrya (Sirius), which protects the sources of celestial waters (apparently rising above the horizon at the beginning of the rainy season). Visible planets were related to the higher deities of the Zoroastrian pantheon. An interesting feature regarding Zoroastrianism to astrology was the belief that initially, before the world was desecrated by the evil spirit of Angra Mainyu, the lights moved evenly, and this original rhythm is reflected in the Zoroastrian calendar. But after the emergence of evil in the world, planetary orbits were confused, and the current movement of light reflects the presence of an evil beginning in our lives. Therefore, the study of astrology helps to track negative trends in human life, and the use of the sacred calendar helps to adjust to original, "non-desecrated" rhythms.
