Astrology and Hinduism |
In India the first written mentions of astrology occur in the Veda - a collection of religious texts of Hinduism. The Veda call astrology "an eye through which the person learns wordly life and the spiritual essence" and "the ancestor of all sciences". Studying of own horoscope is considered one of the most objective and productive ways of comprehension of the karma, the purpose in life. Therefore astrology became one of the objects which are under authority of priests-Brahmins, and all postulates of astrology were included naturally into doctrines of Hinduism. The attitude towards astrology to these days is benevolent. The astrologers making the wedding horoscopes and horoscopes which were finding out whom was a person in antecedents are especially esteemed. |
